Privacy Policy
Last updated 2026-08-09
This Privacy Policy explains how fein ("fein", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit fein.vc (the "Site") or contact us. It covers the Site and our related sales and support activity. It does not cover the fein software once you run it on your own infrastructure: that data stays on your servers and we do not collect or have access to it.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
When you fill in our "Talk to sales" form or otherwise contact us, we collect the details you provide, such as your name, work email, phone number, region, number of users, and anything you write in the message field.
Information we collect automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our providers may collect basic technical and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, referring page, the pages you view, and the date and time of your visit. We use a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cross-site tracking cookies or build advertising profiles.
Cookies and similar technologies
The Site uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for it to work, to keep it secure, and to understand aggregate usage. Some are set by the third-party services described below, including Google reCAPTCHA on our contact form and our in-app messenger. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
2. How we use information
- To respond to your enquiry and speak with you about fein.
- To provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Site.
- To send you messages related to your request, including scheduling a call.
- To keep the Site secure and to prevent spam, fraud, and abuse.
- To comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
3. Legal bases for processing
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases: your consent (for example, when you submit the contact form); our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving our business and the Site; the performance of a contract with you or steps taken at your request before entering one; and compliance with a legal obligation.
4. How we share information
We share information only as needed to run our business and the Site:
- Service providers who process information on our behalf, such as our hosting, email delivery, scheduling, analytics, messaging, and spam-prevention providers. These currently include providers of website hosting and serverless functions, transactional email, calendar scheduling, an in-app messenger, a key-value store, and Google reCAPTCHA. Each acts under our instructions.
- Legal and safety: where we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, or is necessary to protect our rights, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
5. International transfers
Some of our providers process information in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal information internationally, we take steps to ensure it remains protected, including through appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses where required.
6. Data retention
We keep the information you provide for as long as needed to respond to your enquiry and for our legitimate business and legal purposes, after which we delete or anonymise it. You can ask us to delete your information at any time using the contact details below.
7. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@fein.vc. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Third-party links
The Site may link to third-party websites and services that we do not control. This Policy does not apply to them, and we encourage you to review their own privacy policies.
10. Children
The Site is intended for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and significant changes will be made clear on this page.
12. Contact us
If you have any questions about this Policy or your information, contact us at privacy@fein.vc.
